God is who He is.
God does not need your theology pin pointing who exactly he is, he said who he was himself, “I AM WHO I AM.” (Exodus 3:14)
We can study our bibles to pinpoint the exact verses that spell out that the Lord predestines or doesn’t predestine people. We can fight and wage our wars over truth. We can scream about spiritual gifts. We can shout until we are blue in the face about baptism and works and faith. We can explain away the day on head covering and modesty and this law and that law and this command and that command.
But do you know what gave us, that we know is definite, that we know is true, we know for an absolute undeniable fact?
God is who he is. And we will never even fully grasp that fact.
So please learn your theology i know i will, teach it, preach it, write it but know you can never stick God in a box and know the exact person he is and what he does. When you put God in a box and label it with something classy like Calvinism and Wesleyan you are boxing in a God who is so infinite that every cell in this world whispers his name, a God that is so huge every breath you take literally means Lord. You put God in a box and you loose site of the fact that you could be wrong and you end up missing the point of God’s call!
The point is to love God, to love people and to go into all the world and preach the gospel baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Do not offend God by doing otherwise and calling it more pleasing to him than what he called you to!
He is who he is. Keep that in the front and center at all times.
