How to Read Your Bible so it Changes You

I spent years reading my Bible and studying it. Years doing different devotionals. And none of it changed the way I live. I read it, I learned it, then I went on with my day.

But now I do something extremely radical and different.

Every morning I say a short prayer and asking God to direct me on what he would like me to read today. If I do not feel God leading me to anything I open to someplace in the New Testament and read a short segment of scripture.

I set the clock for FIVE minutes.

I then read that piece of scripture and contemplate on it for the next five minutes.

Then is the hard part. I spend the day LIVING that verse or section of scripture. What matters is not that you know theology or study your Bible for hours. What matters is how you are living for Jesus!

So throughout the day I remember that scripture and truly live the wisdom it gave to me. For example today I read about righteousness and continually spent the day trying to humble myself when speaking to people. It is truly harder then you think to be humble in ALL situations.

Then at night once again I sit down for 5-10 minutes and read the same scripture and then contemplate and prayer about how I did live it or what I could have done better.

This method truly does CHANGE your life in a radical radical way!
